‘DJANGO JD’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 26 May, 2023

Film Mill Pvt. Ltd.’s Django JD (Marathi; UA) is the story of an intern and how he overcomes his fears and ultimately becomes a bold rebel.

Django JD alias Jankinath Balkrishna Dhurandhar (Abhinav Sawant) is an intern with his own insecurities. He loves Harshita (Gauri Nalawade). Slowly but surely, Harshita helps Django overcome all his fears. Ultimately, he transforms into a fearless rebel.

Hardeep Sachdev and Rohit Bhagwat have written a story and screenplay, which are quite dull. The entertainment quotient in the drama is almost nil. Even the dialogues are commonplace.

Abhinav Sawant is fair in the title role. Gauri Nalawade does well as Harshita. Aaditya Ambre is natural as the manipulative manager. Nikhil Rajeshirke passes muster as boss Deepak. Varun Panwar does an average job as JD’s friend, Prem. Yogesh Soman passes muster. Others barely fit the bill.

Hardeep Sachdev’s direction is terribly dull. His cinematography is a bit better. Music (Hardeep Sachdev) is weak. Lyrics (Mangesh Kangne; Hindi lyrics by Hardeep Sachdev) are so-so. Hardeep Sachdev’s background music hardly deserves separate mention. Keshav Thakur’s art direction is okay. Manish Shirke’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Django JD is a flop show.

Released on 26-5-’23 at Gem (daily 1 show; show was cancelled today due to lack of audience) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Platoon Distribution. Publicity & opening: poor.
