‘HARI OM’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 14 October, 2022

Shri Hari Studios’ Hari Om (Marathi; UA) is the story of two brothers.

Hari (Hariom Ghadage) and Om (Gaurav Kadam) are brothers. Being the older brother, Hari takes Om to the city so that he can do something worthwhile in life. Hari starts a gymnasium for Om in the city. Om becomes a physical trainer and befriends Anuja (Tanuja Shinde) who visits his gym. Tension brews between MLA Prasad’s (Swapnil Rajshekhar) brother, Raghavan, and Om. The MLA also breathes fire against Hari and Om. How the two brothers settle scores with the MLA and his brother, Raghavan, forms the crux of the drama.

Hari Om Ghadage has penned such a routine story that it’s not funny. Ashish Ramesh Newalkar and Manoj Sudhakar Yerunkar have written a screenplay which is far from interesting or entertaining. The drama appears clichéd and, therefore, predictable. The duo’s dialogues are very routine.

Hariom Ghadage is ordinary as Hari. Gaurav Kadam is alright in the role of Om. Tanuja Shinde passes muster as Anuja. Saloni Satpute is average as Hari’s girlfriend, Shraddha. Swapnil Rajshekhar lends nice support as the MLA. Kamal Krishna, Rahul Mahajan, Suprit Kadam, Pradeep Doiphode, Rahul Gore and Kushal Koli provide routine support.

Ashish Ramesh Newalkar and Manoj Sudhakar Yerunkar’s direction is uninteresting. The narration is dry and boring. Niranjan Pedgaonkar’s music comprises an entertaining item song and other ordinary numbers. Lyrics (Niranjan, Prashant, Amol, Ganesh and Rahul) are just about okay. The picturisation of the item song is quite nice; other song picturisations (Siddhant Gharat and Raj Surwade) are routine. Sagar Sapkale’s background music is not very impactful. Aniket K. and Surya Mishra’s camerawork is so-so. Action and stunt scenes (by Raj Shinde and Premkumar Sharma) are quite thrilling. Narendra Malap’s art direction passes muster. Editing (Rajesh Shah and Harshad Waiti) is okay.

On the whole, Hari Om has very little entertainment value and will, therefore, flop at the ticket windows.

Released on 14-10-’22 at Glamour (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Filmastra Studios. Publicity: so-so. Opening: weak.
