Aamir Khan, Rajkumar Hirani and Mahaveer Jain will join the lieutenant governor of Jammu & Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, in Srinagar today (5th August) to launch a new film policy to make Kashmir a preferred shooting destination. While Aamir is already there for the shooting of Laal Singh Chaddha, Hirani and Jain are flying to Srinagar today.
On 14th February this year, a delegation of leading film producers and directors, led by Mahaveer Jain and consisting of Imtiaz Ali, Nitesh Tiwari, Dinesh Vijan, Ekta Kapoor, Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and Sanjay Tripathy had met Manoj Sinha and principal secretary to the lieutenant governor, Nitishwar Kumar, in Bombay. In the meeting, the industry people had shared their suggestions to draft the new film policy to encourage film shootings in Jammu & Kashmir.
