Veteran producer and distributor S.G. Lad passed away yesterday (22nd April) in Indore. He was 92 years old. He had tested coronavirus positive and was quarantined at home for six days, with oxygen being supplied to him externally. However, his condition deteriorated thereafter, following which he was in urgent need of hospitalisation. But unfortunately, despite hunting for a hospital bed for two days, his family drew a blank. He finally breathed his last yesterday.
Sheelchandra G. Lad had produced Sangeet Samrat Tansen, Veer Durgadas, Maha Shivratri and Durga. He was actively involved in CCCA work and also did a lot of social work. He was an excellent human being who loved helping the needy.
S.G. Lad came to Bombay in 1945 to join the film industry. He started out as a trolley man, and then became an assistant cameraman.
