Besides Hollywood’s Spider-Man: No Way Home and the Hindi dubbed version of the Telugu film industry’s Pushpa: The Rise Part 1, there is one more film which is making the cash registers ring in West Bengal. It is Bengali film Tonic, the story of an aged couple and their ill-treatment at the hands of their son. Believe it or not but the film drew all shows house-full for nine days since its release on 24th December.
The family drama is directed by Avijit Sen who used to be the chief assistant to director Rajkumar Hirani. It stars Dev, Paran Bandopadhyay, Sujan Mukherjee, Shakuntala Barua and Koneenica Banerjee. Atanu Roy Chowdhury presents the film produced under the banners of Bengal Talkies and Dev Entertainment Ventures. SSR Cinemas Pvt. Ltd. is distributing the super-hit film which is poised to become a blockbuster.
