Tovino Thomas Betting His Last Shirt On His Onam Release ‘A.R.M’ | 23 August, 2024

Malayalam film superstar Tovino Thomas is so charged about his forthcoming release, Ajayante Randam Moshanam (A.R.M), that he has earmarked 40 days for its promotion! “In these 40 days, I could’ve easily completed one film and made my bank balance fatter,” smiles the charismatic actor whose name in a film’s roster is enough to start the adrenaline rush in fans of Malayalam cinema.

Made at a budget of around Rs. 30 crore, which is “big’ for a Malayalam film, A.R.M will be released in 3D and 2D although it was shot in 2D. “We had decided right in the beginning that we would convert it into 3D and so all technical aspects were decided before shooting it in 2D,” reveals the hero of such hits as Minnal Murali, 2018, Virus and Lucifer.

Tovino is pulling out all the stops to promote his latest venture which will be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and English. The actor’s supreme confidence in the project led him to talk to friends in different parts of the world and seek their help in publicising the film. In what may be a first for a Malayalam film, Tovino will be promoting A.R.M in Ireland, Manchester, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar and, of course, Bombay too.

Since the makers are pretty confident that the final product will turn out to be very nice, they’ve selected prestigious distributors for the various language versions so that they can do justice to the film. The Hindi dubbed version will be distributed by Anil Thadani’s AA Films. While the Kannada dubbed version will be released by Hombale Films, it will be Mythri Movies for the Telugu dubbed version. A top distributor for the Tamil dubbed version is in the process of being finalised.

A.R.M, directed by Jithin Lal, is slated for release on 12th September on the festive occasion of Onam.

Information had an occasion to see the trailer of the film yesterday (22nd August; pics below show hero Tovino Thomas and director Jithin Lal in conversation with Komal Nahta). Firstly, the film’s big canvas belies the fact that it is made on a limited budget of Rs. 30 crore. Secondly, Tovino plays three characters (Ajayan, Maniyan and Kunjikelu) in the film which is about three generations. Others in the cast include such names of Krithi Shetty, Aishwarya Rajesh and Basil Joseph. And last but not the least, the trailer of the eagerly awaited Onam release gives the feeling of a super-hit on the anvil!
