‘URF GHANTA’ REVIEW | 23 October, 2021

SRMD Entertainment and ARC Films’ Urf Ghanta (A) is the story of a naive middle-aged man, Ghanteshwar (Jeetu Shivhare), who is keen to get married to the girl of his dreams. However, his world is shattered when he learns of a startling truth about himself.

Jeetu Shivhare’s story and screenplay are less comical and more silly. Rather than evoking laughter, the drama, therefore, serves to irritate the audience. His dialogues are dull.

Jeetu Shivhare disappoints as Ghanteshwar. Ravi Kishan overacts. Mohan Kapur is so-so. Mukesh Bhatt does an average job. Chitrashi Rawat is earnest. Rajendra Gupta lends decent support. Sunita Rajwar is okay.

Aayush Saxena’s direction is below the mark. Music (Parag Chhabra and Yash Kapoor) is just about functional and the same can be said about the lyrics (Shelle and Punit Sharma). Song picturisations (by Juee Vaidya and Gulzar Qureshi) are hardly worth a mention. Background music is dull. Ayan Saxena’s camerawork is not upto the mark. Editing (Vikas Sharma) leaves a lot to be desired.

On the whole, Urf Ghanta is a flop show.

Released on 23-10-’21 at Maxus Borivli (daily 1 show) of Bombay thru Neev Enterprises. Publicity & opening: poor. (The film could not be released yesterday (22-10-’21) because the show was cancelled due to absence of audience.)
