HARVEY WEINSTEIN GETS 23 YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT FOR RAPE, SEXUAL ASSAULT | 13 March, 2020

Hollywood’s disgraced producer Harvey Weinstein was on 11th March given 23 years in prison for rape and sexual assault, by Supreme Court judge James Burke.

Before the sentence was pronounced, Weinstein pleaded for mercy in the courtroom in New York and was heard saying, “men are losing due process”.

Said Weinstein, “First of all, to all the women who testified, we may have different truths, but I have great remorse for all of you. I have great remorse for all the men and women going through this crisis right now in our country.” Harvey Weinstein, who was accused of assaulting many women, was convicted last month of raping aspiring actress Jessica Mann in a hotel in New York in 2013 and forcing oral sex on former production assistant Mimi Haley at his apartment in 2006.

Soon after the sentencing, Harvey was admitted to hospital for ongoing heart problems and chest pain.
