Three actors, one of who was a minor, were rescued on 16th January at Oshiwara in Bombay in a raid on a three-star hotel where a prostitution racket was busted. A 28-year-old woman pimp, Priya Sharma, was arrested. She ran a tours and travel business with two male partners who were also involved in the racket.
Priya, who hails from Delhi, was booked under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). Two of the rescued women were sent to a rehabilitation centre while the 17-year-old minor, to a juvenile home.
