Matrupitru Films’ Fauji (Marathi; UA) is the story of two armymen and what their families have to go through. Chaitanya Marathe (Saurabh Gokhale) and Bharat Deshmukh (Ghanshyam Yede) are two armymen. The story emphasises on the sacrifices made by soldiers and their families.
Ghanshyam Yede has penned a very predictable story about the hardships which the families of army personnel have to face. His screenplay is replete with clichéd scenes and situations. The emotions touch the heart at places only. Even the climax does not have the desired impact. Ghanshyam Yede’s dialogues are commonplace.
Saurabh Gokhale looks smart and acts well as Chaitanya Marathe. Prajakta Gaikwad is okay as Sunanda. Ghanshyam Yede is so-so in the role of Bharat Deshmukh. Ashwini Kasar does an average job as Poonam. Shahbaaz Khan is ordinary in the role of Maqsood Azhar. Tinnu Verma lends average support as Muzbil Ibrahim. Arun Nalavade makes his mark as Aaba. Sanjay Khapre leaves a fine impression as Jasraj. Hansraj Jagtap makes his presence felt as Sandy. Vivek Chabukswar is alright as Ganesh/Ganya. Nagesh Bhosle has his moments as the sarpanch. Rohit Chavan is okay as Shubham. Pragnya Nayan, Jahanvi Vyas, Manjusha Khatri, Siddheshwar Zadbuke, Kalyani Chaudhari, Jayant Savarkar and Sunil Godbole provide routine support.
Ghanshyam Yede’s direction is ordinary. Music (Rajesh Bamgude, Baba Chavan and Suraj Kumar) is functional and so are the lyrics (by Ghanshyam Yede). D.C. David’s choreography is nothing to shout about. Umesh Raorane and Suraj Kumar’s background music is average. Mohan Varma’s cinematography is okay. Moses Fernandes’ action and stunt scenes afford some thrills at times. Vasu Patil and Kaushal Singh’s art direction is okay. Viswajeet’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.
On the whole, Fauji is a flop show.
