Macneill Engineering Ltd.’s A Real Encounter (UA) is about a college-going girl from Bombay, who is killed in an encounter in Gujarat in 2002. The girl, Muskan (Bratuti Ganguly), is trapped because of her association with Waseem, and blackmailed into terrorist activities despite her resistance.
Pradip Churiwal’s story and screenplay are dull and fail to engage or involve the viewers. The drama does not have shock value and it, therefore, is unable to make the audience feel for the characters. Churiwal’s dialogues are so-so.
Bratuti Ganguly is average as Muskan. Sangeeta Singh delivers an ordinary performance as Muskan’s mother. Ehsan Khan is fair as Sanjay Rathore. Shahbaaz Khan is alright as Arjun Ranade. Mushtaq Khan has his moments as Muskan’s uncle. Amrit Dujari does an average job as ACP Tapan Singh. Raza Murad makes his presence felt. Rajesh Pujara, Anil Nagrath and Sangeeta Tiwari are passable. Others do as desired.
Sabir Shaikh’s direction is dull. Suman Mitra’s music and Sahil Sultanpuri’s lyrics are functional. Akhilesh Verma’s choreography is ordinary. The background music is below the mark. Manish Bhatt and Manish K. Vyas’ camerawork hardly deserves separate mention. Action and stunt scenes (choreographed by Siraj Khan) lack thrill. Komal Verma’s editing ought to have been tighter.
On the whole, A Real Encounter is a flop show.
Released on 15-11-’24 at Gem (daily 1 show) of Bombay thru A One Cine Creation. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was weak everywhere.
