‘GOAT’ (ANIMATION; DUBBED) REVIEW | 20 February, 2026

Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation’s Goat (animation; dubbed from the Hollywood film of the name) is a sports comedy. It is the story of an anthropomorphic goat who aspires to be the all-time greatest at a basketball-like sport known as roarball.

The story is inspired by Funky Dunks, a book written by Chris Tougas. Nicolas Curcio and Peter Chiarelli have written a story which doesn’t hold much appeal for the Hindi film-going audience. Aaron Buchsbaum and Teddy Riley’s screenplay is engaging in parts but the overall drama doesn’t have entertainment value — partly because of the fictional sport of roarball not being known in India, and partly because the drama itself appears too stretched.

The voice acting of the animation characters is fair. Kris Bowers’ background music should’ve been better. Jang Lee’s production designing is okay. Clare Knight’s editing is loose. Dubbing is average.

On the whole, Goat is a weak fare.

Released on 20-2-’26 at Gemini (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay by Sony Pictures Films India Pvt. Ltd. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
