‘DEOOL BAND 2’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 22 May, 2026

Vatavruksha Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.’s Deool Band 2 (Marathi; UA) is a story about faith.

A farmer’s wife, Sangita (Snehal Tarde), appeals to Swami Samarth (Mohan Joshi) to come to her village as her husband has locked the Swami Samarth temple. Once Swami Samarth and the wife reach the village, they find that the farmer, Tukaram (Mangesh Desai), has committed suicide. The wife then asks Swami Samarth to stop farmer suicides in the village. How Swami Samarth does so and wins the confidence of the wife forms the crux of the drama.

Pravin Vitthal Tarde’s story is alright. His screenplay is quite entertaining, especially in the first half. The drama post-interval is engaging but it is a bit too lengthy. Some of Pravin Vitthal Tarde’s dialogues are lovely.

Mohan Joshi shines as Swami Samarth. Snehal Tarde acts ably as Sangita. Pravin Tarde is good as Sadu Seth. Mangesh Desai is okay as farmer Tukaram. Atul Kudale is alright as Dutta. Hrishikesh Vamburkar is passable in the role of Rafique. Savita Malpekar lends fair support as Sangita’s mother-in-law. Arpita Ghogardare is average in a brief role as Rafique’s wife, Raeesa. Sanskruti Balgude makes a fair mark as Rupali. Devendra Gaikwad is alright as farmer Dilip Patil. Jagannath Nivangune is so-so as Rupali’s farmer-father. Vinod Vanve lends ordinary support as Santya. Sunil Abhyankar does a routine job as farmer Dinkar Kulkarni. Mahesh Manjrekar (as boatman Fakir Baba), Prasad Oak (as ST bus driver), Om Bhutkar (as jeep driver), Ramesh Pardeshi (as police inspector), Mukund Vasule (as the bullock cart rider), Anant Panshikar (as Gagangiri), Kedar Soman (as Prabhakar Kulkarni), Pawan Pote (as Digya), Vaibhav Aaghav (as Mangya) and master Atharva Mote (as farmer Dilip Patil’s son, Gotya) pass muster.

Pravin Vitthal Tarde’s direction is good. His narration keeps the audience engaged. Tanmay Bhide’s music is alright. Lyrics (Prasad Bhide and Snehal Tarde) are okay. Umesh Jadhav’s choreography is passable. Tanmany Bhide does a fine job of scoring the background music. Prashant Misale’s camerawork is appealing. Pradyumna Kumar Swain’s action and stunt scenes are so-so. Nitesh Nandgaonkar’s art direction is alright. Mayur Hardas’ editing is sharp.

On the whole, Deool Band 2 is a good entertainer and will score very well at the box-office. Hit.

Released on 21-5-’26 at Plaza (daily 3 shows) and other cinemas of Bombay thru AA Films. Publicity: good. Opening: excellent.
