K. Swamini Film Production’s Sahal (Marathi; UA) is the story of self-discovery. Set in a traditional village, it follows Siddharth’s coming-of-age journey.
Siddharth loves Shubhangi but a school trip changes everything for him. The story deals with issues like family expectations, social pressure, friendship, love and difficult choices.
Mukund Vasant Khuperkar has written a story and screenplay, which offer no novelty. The drama, therefore, progresses without involving the audience or engaging them much. His dialogues are ordinary.
Devika Daftardar does a fair job. Siddesh Mukund is average. Kalyani Adsul is okay. Others provide routine support.
Mukund Vasant Khuperkar’s direction is no better than his weak script. Dr. Jaibhim Shinde’s music is below the mark. Lyrics (Suhas Munde and Sameer Pathan) are average. Hrishikesh Kulkarni’s background music is functional. Abhishek Shete does an average job of the cinematography. Art direction (by Prashant Kumbhar, Manoj Patil, Pankaj, Kiran Kamble and Sharvari Khuperkar) is okay. Chandrashekhar Gurav’s editing is loose.
On the whole, Sahal is a weak fare.
Released on 9-10-’26 at Movie Time Goregaon (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Sunshine Studios. Publicity & opening: poor.
