‘PAACH FUTACHA BACHCHAN’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 9 October, 2026

Orpheus Studios’ Paach Futacha Bachchan (Marathi; UA) is about Rajlaxmi Jadhav (Shruti Madhudeep) who is such a terrific kirtankar that she earns the sobriquet of ‘Paach Futacha Bachchan’ (she is only five feet tall). She can’t see eye to eye with Ranga Bagdi Maharaj (Kishor Kadam), a rival kirtankar. Anyway, she hires the services of a videographer, Prasad Kumbhar (Aashay Kulkarni), who makes her very popular because of her videos and reels shot by him. By the by, Rajlaxmi and Prasad Kumbhar fall in love with one another. But when Rajlaxmi falls upon bad times, she chucks out Prasad from her life. She even marries Purushottam (Kshitish Date) because of which her career looks up once again as Purushottam comes from an influential family. However, Purushottam is too possessive by nature and wants to control Rajlaxmi. The two have a fight. Unrelenting, Rajlaxmi continues to conduct kirtans and informs people (through her video) that some persons were against her conducting of kirtans. What happens thereafter?

Kaustubh Deshpande’s story is quite different and hence fairly interesting. But his screenplay is very ordinary. The graph of Rajlaxmi’s character is not consistent as her behaviour keeps changing so that the audience are unable to decide whether she is their hero or not and whether she deserves their sympathy or not. Kaustubh Deshpande’s dialogues are good.

Shruti Madhudeep acts ably as Rajlaxmi Jadhav. Shashank Shende is lovely as Rajlaxmi’s father. Chinmayee Sumeet is alright as Rajlaxmi’s mother, Radhabai. Gauri Nalawade lends nice support as Rajlaxmi’s sister, Vijaya. Kishor Kadam leaves a fine work as Ranga Bagdi Maharaj. Omprakash Shinde is okay as Vijaya’s boyfriend/husband, Santosh. Kshitish Date lends average support as Purushottam. Pushkaraj Chirputkar is fair as Rajlaxmi’s PA. Aashay Kulkarni is alright as videographer Prasad Kumbhar. Sameer Patil (as Purushottam’s father), Vinod Vanve (as Rajlaxmi’s make-up man, Pran), Shyamraj Patil (as Rajlaxmi’s maternal uncle) and the others pass muster.

Kaustubh Deshpande’s direction is ordinary. Niranjan Pedgaonkar’s music is quite good but his background score is much better. Pradip Awate’s lyrics are meaningful. Abhishek Shete’s camerawork is alright. Mahesh Kore’s production designing is proper. Sourabh Prabhudesai’s editing is reasonably crisp.

On the whole, Paach Futacha Bachchan is a below-average fare and so, its box-office prospects are dull.

Released on 9-10-’26 at Metro Inox (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru AA Films. Publicity: so-so. Opening: weak.
