Why is there such a flood of new releases on 18th October?

– As many as seven films are presently slated for release on 18th October, besides one dubbed film. This is because there is no major or big film hitting the screens on that day as it is the dull pre-Diwali week. The producers of all the films releasing on that day, obviously, feel, it is better to come without a major opposition even if that means releasing it in as dull a week as pre-Diwali.

Is there room for three releases on Diwali? Should any of the three producers shift the release of his film?

– Frankly, the producers of SAAND KI AANKH need to rethink their release strategy because the film may find it difficult to withstand the opposition of the other two Diwali releases viz. HOUSEFULL 4 and MADE IN CHINA. But if they are not considering getting the film on another date, it is because they don’t have a good enough date after 25th October except 1st November. From 8th November onwards, there’s an opposition or two every single week right till the year-end. If the film hits the screens on 25th October, it at least gets a two-week window as there is no major release on 1st November. The producers must’ve reasoned out that it is better to face the opposition of two films than lose the Diwali week and the 2-week window.

What do you think of the Housefull 4 trailer?

– Extraordinary fun – that’s what it promises.
