TV ACTRESS IN DRUNK DRIVING, ASSAULT CASE | 6 April, 2019

TV actress Ruhi Shaileshkumar Singh was involved in a case of drunk driving and assault on 1st April. A case was registered against her and two others who were travelling with her. Ruhi allegedly assaulted a police officer at Linking Road, Khar, Bombay before fleeing in her car in an inebriated state. She met with an accident a few minutes later, at Santacruz.

Additional sessions judge Nandkishore More on 4th April rejected her anticipatory bail application, and refused to accept her explanation that the staff at a fast food restaurant at Carter Road, Bandra, where she had gone with her friends, had misbehaved with her and pushed her down the staircase following which she telephoned the police who punched her on the nose. While the Khar police booked her for voluntarily causing hurt to obstruct a police officer from doing his duty and misconduct in public by a person in an inebriated state, among several other sections, she was separately booked for rash and negligent driving by the Santacruz police.

Several television channels showed photographs of Bollywood actress Ruhi Singh instead of TV actress Ruhi Shaileshkumar Singh while reporting the news.

Incidentally, the Khar police later arrested Ruhi’s friends, Rahul Singh and Swapnil Singh.
