POLICE DUB SEXUAL HARASSMENT CASE AGAINST NANA FALSE | 15 June, 2019

The Oshiwara (Bombay) police on 12th June filed a report before an Andheri magistrate court stating that the case of sexual harassment filed by actress Tanushree Dutta against Nana Patekar was false. The police added that as there was no evidence to prosecute Patekar, they were closing the case. The court has now to decide whether the case stands closed or it will be carried forward.

Tanushree had filed a case in October last year, marking the start of the #MeToo movement in India. The police report said that the actress had filed the case because of a misunderstanding and without malicious intent. Tanushree Dutta remarked that the police had not investigated the case properly as they wanted to help Nana. She will file a petition in the Bombay high court.
