Shilpa Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra, on 19th October sent Sherlyn Chopra a legal notice, seeking Rs. 50 crore in damages for ruining their reputation by making “false and baseless” allegations against them. The notice also sought an unconditional apology from the actress in newspapers and on digital media platforms within seven days, failing which it warned of civil and criminal proceedings against her.
Both, Kundra and Sherlyn Chopra, are accused in a pornographic content case. Kundra was granted bail by a Bombay court last month after he spent two months in jail. Sherlyn had last week filed a complaint at the Juhu (Bombay) police station against Shilpa and Raj, accusing them of committing fraud against her. She had also alleged harassment, cheating and criminal intimidation.
Shetty and Kundra’s notice said, Sherlyn’s allegations were an “afterthought” as she was also an accused in the case. It mentioned that Shilpa Shetty was in no way connected or involved in the day-to-day affairs of the Kundra-promoted JL Stream app.
