IMPPA president T.P. Aggarwal has written a letter to I & B minister Anurag Singh Thakur, asking for the right of self-regulation for producers of feature films. While referring to a comment of the minister that the growth in the OTT sector was fuelled by allowing self-regulation in terms of content for the streaming platforms, the IMPPA has wondered why producers of feature films were not accorded the same right of self-regulation. It has decried the need for certification of films by the Central Board of Film Certification.
