Writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar has sought a non-bailable warrant against Kangana Ranaut for her non-appearance in his case against her for defamation. Akhtar’s lawyer said, she was actually shooting on the dates when she claimed that she was unwell. The lawyer submitted data from her social media handle to substantiate his claim. Akhtar’s lawyer also told the court that Kangana was trying to cause delays and had been making false and incorrect statements to the court.
The actress’ lawyers countered that just because a social media post was made on a particular date, it did not mean that the picture was clicked on that day. The matter will now be heard on January 4, 2022.
