All shows after 5 p.m. today (December 31) in single-screen cinemas and multiplexes of Bombay city and suburbs had to be suspended due to police orders. There was a threat of a terrorist attack in the city and hence the police, out of abundant caution, ordered cinemas to shut down for the day from 8 p.m. onwards. However, it was business as usual for those cinemas which did not receive the intimation for the suspension of shows.
Needless to add, the biggest casualties due to this were 83, Pushpa: The Rise Part 1 (dubbed) and Spider-Man: No Way Home (English and Hindi dubbed).
