KARNATAKA CINEMAS TO FUNCTION AT FULL CAPACITY | 4 February, 2022

Starting tomorrow (5th February), cinemas in Karnataka have been permitted to operate at 100% capacity. A decision to this effect was taken today (4th) after a meeting between the Karnataka chief minister and the health and family welfare minister. People would have to wear masks while watching the film. Eatables will continue to not be allowed inside the auditoria.

As cases of the Omicron variant of the Coronavirus continue to decline, other states are expected to follow the Karnataka example. Most states had in December 2021 and January 2022 ordered cinemas to function at reduced capacities due to the then growing number of Omicron cases.
