A magistrate’s court in Bombay on April 12 granted Shilpa Shetty’s mother bail in a cheating case. The court had last month issued a bailable warrant against Sunanda Shetty for her non-appearance. She was present in court on April 12 and requested cancellation of the warrant. The court cancelled it. Sunanda Shetty also moved a bail application.
Parhad Amra, proprietor of Mervin Automotive, had alleged that Shilpa Shetty’s father, Surendra Shetty, had taken a loan of Rs. 21 lakh from him in 2015. He further alleged that after his demise in 2016, the family refused to repay the alleged loan amount. Earlier, the Dindoshi (Bombay) sessions court had stayed proceedings against Shilpa and sister Shamita Shetty in the same case. The court had at that time said, the proceedings against Sunanda Shetty were to continue.
