Released two weeks back in U.P., C.I. and Rajasthan by Shatrughan Movies, Jaipur, Shiromani Creations and Wonder Cement’s Antaryatri Mahapurush is the life journey of Digambar saint Acharya Vidya Sagar Maharaj.
The story is based on real-life incidents of the saint’s life. Anil Kulchainiya’s screenplay is of the kind which will appeal to the followers and disciples of the saint. Dialogues (Anil Kulchainiya and Bharat Beniwal) are so-so.
Vivek Mishra does well as the Acharya. Kishori Shahane is very good as Shrimanti. Gajendra Chauhan lends nice support as Mallappaji. Baldev Trehan makes his mark as Acharya Gyansagar. Krishna Bhatt (as Maruti) and Sudhakar Sharma are adequate. Vicky Hada, Hardik Mishra, Arjun, Milind Gunaji and Gufi Paintal lend fair support in guest/special appearances.
Anil Kulchainiya’s direction is average. Satish Dehra’s music is functional. Sudhakar Sharma’s lyrics are nice. Choreography (Madhav Kishan) would appeal to the devout. Dharmendra Jawda’s background music is routine. Mahesh G. Sharma’s camerawork is alright. Editing (by Gul) could’ve been tighter.
On the whole, Antaryatri Mahapurush will do well in pockets on the strength of the religious-minded Hindus.
