Prissha Films’ Miami Se New York (UA) is the story of four girls who go on a road trip from Miami to New York. They take the help of a young man when their driver leaves them. The young man makes a place for himself in the heart of one of the four girls. But the girl he desires is a Pakistani who is soon to be married with another guy. Does this travel love story have a happy ending?
The film has a predictable story. Nothing really comes as a surprise as it is devoid of any novelty. The screenplay, written by Syed Gulrez and Joy Augustine, abounds in clichéd situations. Therefore, the audience gets the feeling of having seen it all. The only difference is that this is a love story which unfolds on a road trip. Dialogues are alright.
Nishana Minaz is alright as Anshu. Nikhar Krishnani is okay as Shaina. Janelle Lacle does an average job in the role of Millie. Rohini Chandra delivers an ordinary performance as Asha. Arjun Anand’s acting (as Ravi) is routine.
Joy Augustine’s direction is quite nice. But he is saddled with a weak script. Viju Shah’s music is okay. Syed Gulrez’s lyrics are average. Song picturisations are fair. Parixit Warrier’s camerawork is quite nice. Foreign locales are eye-filling. Action and stunt scenes, choreographed by Juah C. Bofill, are ordinary. James Jude Gaynor’s production designing is okay. Ballu Saluja’s editing is proper.
On the whole, Miami Se New York has beautiful locations and a bit of entertainment value but lack of face value and promotion will ensure that the film remains a non-starter.
Released on 5-8-’22 at Cinepolis Andheri (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru White Lion Entertainment. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was dull everywhere.
