Released last week in Bombay, U.P. and East Punjab, Shahid Kazmi Films and H.S. Rissan Production’s The Era Of 1990 (UA) is the story of two film pirates, Shiv Pandit (Arjun Manhas) and Shanky (Shanky Sharma).
Shahid Kazmi has written a disjointed story and screenplay, both of which fail to engage or involve the viewers. Even his dialogues are ordinary.
Arjun Manhas is no hero material. Shanky Sharma is as dull as Arjun Manhas. Sara Khan is average. Shadab Khan’s performance is weak. Mir Sarwar lends average support. Ray Parihar hardly makes a mark. Aarti Bhagat is passable. Others lend routine support.
Shahid Kazmi’s direction is weak. Background music is poor. Luxmi Chand’s camerawork is dull. Shan Mistry’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.
On the whole, The Era Of 1990 is a flop show all the way.
