The Bombay high court, in its order dated March 30 on quashing the FIR against Salman Khan for allegedly assaulting a journalist, said, “The judicial process needn’t be a means for needless harassment merely because the accused is a well-known celebrity.” It added, “He (Salman Khan) shall not be subjected to unnecessary oppression.” It said, the journalist was satisfying his vendetta by filing the complaint.
Journalist Ashok Pandey had in 2019 alleged in his private complaint before the magistrate that Salman snatched his mobile phone while cycling on a street of Bombay when some media persons started to click his photos. The actor argued with him and then threatened him, he added.
