KERALA CALLS FOR BOYCOTT OF ‘THE KERALA STORY’ | 29 April, 2023

The Kerala government on April 28 said, it may consider taking legal action against The Kerala Story. It added that the film about so-called “love jihad” and brainwashing of girls to join the Islamic State (IS) was “an attempt to incite riots” and “a Sangh Parivar conspiracy to implement agenda in the state”.

Culture minister of Kerala, Saji Cherian, urged people to boycott the film, saying that it aimed to show the state in a bad light. He explained, “People of all religions live in harmony here.” Besides the governing CPM, opposition Congress and Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) also slammed the film which is slated for release on May 5.
