‘SATYAPREM’ HITS HALF CENTURY

Satyaprem Ki Katha did reasonably well in the first weekend but collections dropped quite a bit during the weekdays. It managed a total of over Rs. 50 crore in the first week. It did well in multiplexes and ‘A’ class centres mainly, but the performance in smaller centres and single-screen cinemas was not up to the mark. After a Thursday (June 29) total of Rs. 9 crore, it netted Rs. 6.50 crore on Friday (June 30). Collections on Saturday jumped to Rs. 10 crore while the total on Sunday was Rs. 11.50 crore. After a 4-day weekend total of Rs. 37 crore, collections for the weekdays were as follows: Monday – Rs. 3.90 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 3.75 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 3.50 crore, Thursday – Rs. 3.10 crore. In this way, the total for the weekdays was Rs. 14.25 crore. Hence the total for the 8-day first week Rs. 51.25 crore. Two regional films affected the film very badly – Carry On Jatta 3 (Punjabi) in East Punjab, and Baipan Bhari Deva (Marathi) in Maharashtra.

Parastree fared miserably in the first week.

1922 Pratikar Chauri Chaura proved to be a debacle all over in the first week.

Indiana Jones And The Dial Of Destiny (dubbed and the original English versions) did ordinary business in 1st week. It netted Rs. 1.49 crore on Thursday (June 29). Collections fell to Rs. 1.13 crore on Friday but increased to Rs. 1.89 crore on Saturday. The Sunday total (Rs. 1.86 crore) was less than that of Saturday, giving an indication that the film had met with an ordinary response only. After a 4-day weekend of Rs. 6.37 crore, collections for the weekdays were not impressive: Monday – Rs. 0.42 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 0.42 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.35 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.24 crore. In this way, the total for the weekdays was Rs. 1.43 crore. Therefore, the first 8-day week closed at Rs. 7.80 crore.

 

Spy (dubbed) failed to garner any worthwhile viewership in 1st week.

1920: Horrors Of The Heart managed to hold its own in 2nd week, netting Rs. 2.91 crore (Hindi version) and Rs. 0.59 crore (Tamil dubbed and Telugu dubbed versions). Therefore, the grand total for the Hindi version for 2 weeks is Rs. 11.64  crore while for the two dubbed versions, it is Rs. 4.41 crore. Grand total for all versions: Rs. 16.05 crore. Some cinemas have increased its shows in the third week.

Adipurush went from bad to worse. It netted only Rs. 1.07 crore in the third week. Grand total for 3 weeks: Rs. 125.32 crore.

The Flash (dubbed and the original English versions) had a very ordinary third week. It netted Rs. 0.93 crore in the third weekend and another Rs. 0.35 crore during the weekdays. In this way, the total for the third week was Rs. 1.28 crore. Grand total for 3 weeks: 29.45 crore.

Baipan Bhari Deva (Marathi) proves a roaring hit. The woman-centric film netted Rs. 1 crore on the opening day. Collections soared to Rs. 2.25 crore on Saturday, and further increased to Rs. 3.20 crore on Sunday. After a phenomenal first weekend total of Rs. 6.45 crore, collections for the weekdays were also outstanding: Monday – Rs. 1.15 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1.45 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 1.85 crore, Thursday – Rs. 1.60 crore. As the total for the weekdays was an unbelievable Rs. 6.05 crore, the first week closed at Rs. 12.50 crore.

Carry On Jatta 3 (Punjabi) is all set to become the biggest Punjabi blockbuster ever. It opened with a take of Rs. 3.54 crore in East Punjab on Thursday (June 29). In Delhi, the film netted Rs. 0.70 crore, while in the rest of India, the first day’s total was Rs. 0.28 crore. Hence the first day’s all-India total was Rs. 4.52 crore. Collections on Friday were Rs. 2.99 crore in East Punjab, Rs. 0.60 crore in Delhi, and Rs. 0.16 crore in the rest of India. After an all-India total of Rs. 3.75 crore on Friday, collections shot up to Rs. 5 crore (East Punjab Rs. 3.85 crore, Delhi Rs. 0.95 crore, rest of India Rs. 0.20 crore) on Saturday, and further to Rs. 5.80 crore (East Punjab Rs. 4.66 crore, Delhi 0.93 crore, rest of India 0.21 crore) on Sunday. In this way, the first 4-day weekend closed at Rs. 19.07 crore (East Punjab Rs. 15.04 crore, Delhi Rs. 3.18 crore, rest of India Rs. 0.85 crore). The collections for the weekdays were also excellent: Monday – Rs. 2.90 crore (East Punjab Rs. 1.95 crore, Delhi and the rest of India Rs. 0.95 crore), Tuesday – Rs. 2.40 crore (East Punjab Rs. 1.65 crore, Delhi and the rest of India Rs. 0.75 crore), Wednesday – Rs. 2.10 crore (East Punjab Rs. 1.40 crore, Delhi and the rest of India Rs. 0.70 crore), Thursday – Rs. 1.65 crore (East Punjab Rs. 1.20 crore, Delhi and the rest of India Rs. 0.45 crore). Therefore, the total for the weekdays was a fantastic Rs. 9.05 crore (East Punjab Rs. 6.20 crore, Delhi and the rest of India Rs. 2.85 crore). Hence the first 8-day week’s total was Rs. 28.12 crore (East Punjab Rs. 21.24 crore, Delhi and the rest of India Rs. 6.88 crore).
