Sahyadri Motion Pictures’ Bhagirathi Missing (Marathi; UA) is the story of a girl, Bhagirathi (Shilpa Thakre), who goes missing in her village. Police investigations begin but solving the mystery of the missing girl is not easy.
Sanjay Ingulkar has written a story and screenplay, which are ordinary. The drama never really catches the fancy of the viewers so much that they start ‘participating’ in the police investigations. In other words, the audience remain passive spectators of the unfolding drama, never really partaking in the proceedings. Sanjay Ingulkar’s dialogues are average.
Shilpa Thakre is alright as Bhagirathi. Abhishek Avachat is fair. Suresh Vishwakarma lends reasonable support. Pooja Pawar Salunkhe is adequate. Chandrakant Mulgundkar, Neelam Wadekar, Sandip Kulkarni, Pramod Kulkarni, Vrunda Bal, Archana Kuber, Nikhil Kenjale, Shrikrishna Bhingare, Shankar Patekar, Sikander Mulani, Smita Patil and Shubham Auti provide routine support. Others are passable.
Sachin Wagh’s direction leaves something to be desired. Ashutosh Kulkarni’s music is ordinary. Lyrics (Mandar Cholkar and Dr. Sangita Godbole) are okay. Milind Gone and Santosh Dalimbe’s background music is nothing to shout about. Dinesh Kandarkar’s camerawork is functional. Nitin Borkar’s art direction is fair. Editing should’ve been sharper.
On the whole, Bhagirathi Missing is too ordinary to do anything worthwhile at the ticket counters. Disaster.
