Activist-filmmaker Aisha Sultana, who was booked on sedition charges, was let off after the third round of interrogation at the police headquarters in Lakshadweep yesterday (24th June). She was given permission to return to Kerala but with a direction to appear before the investigation team, if summoned.
Aisha had been booked in a sedition case after she claimed in a television debate that a bio-weapon was being used against the people of Lakshadweep islands. She had later clarified that her comment was directed at the policies of administrator Praful Patel.
