In view of the declining cases of Coronavirus, the department of health and family welfare in the ministry of health and family welfare of the government of India has permitted all entertainment gatherings and congregations to resume as in the pre-COVID-19 days. This means that cinemas are now permitted to operate at cent per cent levels, subject, however, to permissions being granted by the respective state governments. The Centre has asked the state governments to assess the situation in their respective jurisdictions and decide.
