‘RAMRAJYA’ REVIEW | 4 November, 2022

Li Helios Films’ Ramrajya (UA) is about the principles and philosophy of Lord Ram, which can be used to solve new-age problems too. It also talks of an ideal society where people of all castes and creeds live in harmony.

Shivanand Sinha’s story is too idealistic and, therefore, not very practical. The screenplay, penned by Mohana Prasad, is not interesting enough to catch the audience’s fancy. As a result, the viewers watch the overtly idealistic drama unfolding, as mere spectators rather than getting involved in it. Dialogues are ordinary.

Aman Preet Singh is average. Shobhita Rana does an ordinary job. Govind Namdeo, Rajesh Sharma, Salman Shaikh, Manoj Bakshi and Mushtaq Khan lend decent support. Others barely pass muster.

Nitesh Rai’s direction and editing leave a lot to be desired. Asif Chandwani’s music is functional. Lyrics (Salim Begena and Shivanand Sinha) are so-so. Dev Thape’s song picturisations hardly deserve separate mention. The background music is too loud. K.M. Sujith’s camerawork is ordinary. Action scenes lack thrill. Amrendra Srivastava’s production designing is routine.

On the whole, Ramrajya will go unnoticed.

Released on 4-11-’22 at Glamour (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Filmastra Studios. Publicity & opening: horrifyingly poor. …….Also released all over.
