The Kurar (at Malad East in Bombay) police on 2nd July arrested television actor Pracheen Chauhan (of Kasautii Zindagii Kay) on charges of molesting an event manager of the South Indian film industry, who complained to the police a day after the alleged molestation. The 22-year-old woman said, she went with a female friend to the actor’s house late on 1st July to attend a party which he had organised and for which he invited her. The lady complained that Pracheen consumed alcohol and touched her inappropriately in an inebriated state.
After the incident, the victim went home and reached the police station the next evening. Her statement was recorded and a case was subsequently registered under the relevant sections of molestation, wrongful confinement and assault.
