Director Soham Shah and the unit of Alt Balaji’s web series Fixerr were attacked by goons on 19th June while they were shooting on a private property at Thane after obtaining due permissions. Soham said, rather than being helpful, the police supported the attackers. Shah and his unit were driven away from the location and their make-up van and shooting equipments, damaged. Soham was hit badly by a wooden stick. His cameraman, Santosh Thundiyil, sustained severe injuries and had to be administered ten stitches. Mahie Gill was spared as she was an actress. The shooting remained incomplete.
The attack was allegedly by a location co-ordinator who was agitated because Soham had hired the services of a rival location co-ordinator to seek permissions etc. Both the location co-ordinators were erstwhile partners. Three persons were arrested on 20th. The chief minister of Maharashtra said, strict action will be taken against the attackers, some of whom are still at large.
