IJM Productions Pvt. Ltd.’s Jaan Abhi Baaki Hai (UA) is a love story. A young man falls in love with a tourist. His obsession for her is so acute that things go out of hand.
Dr. I.J. Mishra and Satyajeet have written an intense love story, but lack of novelty does it in. The duo’s screenplay is replete with predictable scenes which dilute the impact of the drama. Their dialogues are dull.
Pranjal Shandilya does not have the looks of a hero. His acting is so-so. Swapnil Singh is average as Dhara. Makarand Deshpande lends fair support as Joshi. Brijendra Kala has his moments as Om Negi. Rohit Pathak is barely passable as Vibhrat. Rajesh Jais is alright in the role of Ashish. Bikramjeet Kanwarpal is okay. Ashok Beniwal is ordinary in the role of Pawan Awasthi. Bobby Vatsa, Manoj Bharadwaj, Saksham Kulkarni, Rajesh Puri and the others provide dull support.
Satyajeet’s direction is below the mark. Mahesh Matkar’s music is quite alright. Lyrics (by Dr. I.J. Mishra and Satyajeet) are average. Song picturisations (Vishnu Deva and James Anthony) are not up to the mark. Anamik Chauhan’s background music lacks impact. Timmanna Hegde’s camerawork is quite nice. Action scenes (Raj Shinde) are not very exciting or thrilling. Satyajeet’s editing leaves something to be desired.
On the whole, Jaan Abhi Baaki Hai is a poor fare.
Released on 1-5-’26 at Movie Time Goregaon (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru First Film Studios. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was weak everywhere.
