Released lat week in Bombay and U.P., Temple Productions and 13B Films’ Rakthrekha (dubbed from English Bloodline; UA) is a mystery film.
Alice (Hannah Minnock) suddenly disappears one day in India. Her sister, Bella (Adrianna Edwards), now joins forces with martial artist Lee (Abbas Alizada) to confront Adharva (Jojo George) and uncover the truth behind her disappearance. Bella confronts ancient spells and mysteries, which intertwine the past and the present.
Temple Capital, Adrianna Edwards and Jojo George have written a story and screenplay, both of which are clichéd. The drama fails to engage the audience. The proceedings progress without involving the viewers.
Adrianna Edwards is so-so as Bella. Hannah Minnock does a fair job as Alice. Abbas Alizada lends ordinary support in the role of Lee. Jojo George is okay as Adharva/Bharvain. Suanne Braun passes muster as Dr. Harris. Others are passable.
Temple Capital and Jojo George’s direction is not up to the mark. Philip Curran’s background music is fair. Najeeb Khan’s cinematography is of a fine standard. Ashams Omassery’s art direction is okay. Editing (by Kyle Bashford and Liam Bashford) is loose. Dubbing is okay.
On the whole, Rakthrekha is a flop show. It collected Rs. 597/- in 1 week (2 shows) in Bombay, and Rs. 235/- in 1 week in Kanpur.
