Whatever Netflix does, it does in style! And the launch of the trailer of its new and prestigious web series, The Royals, was no different.
In keeping with the theme of the series about a fictional royal family of Rajasthan, the decor and the ambience had touches of royalty. Right from the seating arrangements to the food spread, everything about the event exuded a regal flavour. Why, even the ushers and the waiters who served food to the select media gathering, wore blue saafas (Rajasthani headgear) to make the guests feel like they were in a palace of Rajasthan, rubbing shoulders with the royals.
The 8-part series stars Bhumi Pednekar, Ishaan Khatter, Zeenat Aman, Chunkey Panday, Milind Soman, Nora Fatehi, Vihaan Samat, Lisa Mishra, Sakshi Tanwar, Dino Morea, Sumukhi Suresh, Kavya Trehan and Udit Arora. It is directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana and written by Neha Veena Sharma for producers Rangita Pritish Nandy and Ishita Pritish Nandy. It is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on May 9.
A love story, which unfolds between a member of the royal family and a commoner, this one is definitely keenly awaited — and not just because there are very few romantic series being made these days. The trailer is so well cut that it is already making people make note of their date with the royals in The Royals.
