‘7 DOGS’ (DUBBED) REVIEW | 21 August, 2026

Sela Studios and Riyadh Reason’s 7 Dogs (dubbed from the Arabic film of the same name; UA) is a crime film.

Interpol officer Khalid Al-Azzazi (Ahmed Ezz) captures Ghali Abu Dawood (Karim Abdel Aziz), a senior member of the 7 Dogs crime organisation. Khalid Al-Azzazi is forced to seek the help of the arrested Ghali to stop the spread of the Pink Lady drug by 7 Dogs. This takes them to different countries. Along the way, Ghali escapes because he gets to know that his wife and son are in Saudi. Does Khalid succeed in his mission? Does Ghali help Khalid?

H.E. Turki Alalshikh’s story is ordinary. It is a routine crime story with a fair amount of turns and twists. Mohamed El-Dabah’s screenplay is fast-paced and interesting in parts but since there’s no novelty in the drama, it doesn’t entertain much. Also, because the actors are Arabic (and, therefore, mostly unknown faces for the Hindi film-going audience), the impact of the drama is diluted. Dialogues are okay.

Ahmed Ezz acts well as Khaid Al-Azzazi. Karim Abdel Aziz performs wonderfully as Ghali Abu Dawood. Monica Bellucci is good as Giulia Leone. Nasser Al Qasabi lends average support as General Nasser. Sayed Ragab is so-so in the role of General Sabri. Tara Emad is alright as the Interpol operative. Sandy Bella is okay as Jessica. Giancarlo Esposito is ordinary as Roman Marks. Salman Khan lends star value in a brief role as Johar. Sanjay Dutt also provides star value in a brief role as Ranjit. Menna Shalabi has her moments as Khalid’s mother. Hana El Zahed is quite nice as Khalid’s girlfriend, Rabab. Francis Ngannou is fair as the security guard. Max Huang and the others pass muster.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah’s direction is average. Lorne Balfe’s background music is effective. Robrecht Heyvaert’s camerawork is excellent. Paul Kirby’s production designing is of a fine standard. Pieter Smet’s editing is sharp. Dubbing is nice.

On the whole, 7 Dogs is a very ordinary fare. Considering its low-key promotion, absence of recognisable actors and lack of awareness about the film’s release, it will go largely unnoticed.

Released on 21-8-’26 at Metro Inox (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru AA Films. Publicity: poor. Opening: dull. …….Also released all over. Opening was weak everywhere.
