Insidious: Out Of The Further (dubbed and the original English versions) opened on Thursday (20th August) to dull houses, netting approximately Rs. 0.50 crore.

Batwara 1947 fared poorly in the first week but reaped the benefit of the Independence Day holiday. It netted Rs. 4.75 crore on the first day. Collections shot up to Rs. 11.50 crore on Saturday owing to Independence Day holiday. Since public reports were dull, the total for Sunday was only Rs. 5.75 crore. After a weekend total of Rs.22 crore, collections on the weekdays were as follows: Monday – Rs. 1.15 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1.50 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.90 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.70 crore. Hence the total for the weekdays was merely Rs. 4.25 crore. In this way, the first week closed at Rs. 26.25 crore only.

Awarapan 2 opened huge and recorded the best ever initial for an Emraan Hashmi starrer. Collections maintained wonderfully all through the first week because the public reports were positive. The film collected Rs. 23.40 crore on the first day. The total for Saturday (Independence Day) went up to Rs. 34.09 crore. Sunday closed at Rs. 26.82 crore, taking the first weekend total to Rs. 84.31 crore. The film maintained superbly during the weekdays too: Monday – Rs. 10.06 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 10.26 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 7 crore, Thursday – Rs. 6.03 crore. With the total for the weekdays being Rs. 33.35 crore, the first week closed at a whopping Rs. 117.66 crore.

The End Of Oak Street (dubbed and the original English versions) reaped the advantage of the Independence Day weekend more than anything else in its first week. The film netted Rs. 0.71 crore on the first day. Collections doubled on Saturday (Independence Day) which, therefore, closed at Rs. 1.46 crore. The figure for Sunday was Rs. 1.06 crore. After a first weekend total of Rs. 3.23 crore, collections for the weekdays were quite dull: Monday – Rs. 0.22 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 0.31 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.21 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.15 crore. With the total for the weekdays being Rs. 0.89 crore, the first week closed at Rs. 4.12 crore.

Hanuman Ansh did not do anything worthwhile in 2nd week, but collections are picking up from Friday (3rd week’s first day) onwards.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day (dubbed and the original English versions) crossed the Rs. 475-crore mark in 3rd week. The third weekend commenced with a take of Rs. 3.90 crore on Friday. Collections on Saturday (Independence Day) shot up to Rs. 10.40 crore. The collection figure for Sunday was Rs. 9.60 crore, as a result of which the third weekend closed at an impressive Rs. 23.90 crore. Collections for the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 2 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 2.50 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 1.70 crore, Thursday – Rs. 1.60 crore. With the total for the weekdays being Rs. 7.80 crore, the third week closed at Rs. 31.70 crore. Grand total for 3 weeks: Rs. 480.10 crore. The film just might join the Rs. 500-crore club by the end of its complete run.

The Odyssey (dubbed and the original English versions) continued its victory march in the fifth week too. The fifth weekend started with a net collection of Rs. 0.99 crore on Friday. Collections on Saturday (Independence Day) increased to Rs. 1.92 crore. The total for Sunday was Rs. 1.78 crore. Therefore, the fifth weekend’s total was Rs. 4.69 crore. Collections for the weekdays were as follows: Monday – Rs. 0.64 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 0.73 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.72 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.61 crore. Hence the total for the weekdays was Rs. 2.70 crore. In this way, the fifth week closed at Rs. 7.39 crore. Grand total for 5 weeks: Rs. 178.05 crore.
