P SE PYAAR F SE FARRAAR | 17 October, 2019

OK Movies’ P Se Pyaar F Se Farraar (UA) is a love story and a story of honour killings.

Omveer Singh (Kumud Mishra) and Rajveer Singh (Jimmy Shergill) are bothers who live together in Mathura in a joint family consisting of their wives, children and mother.

Omveer Singh metes out punishment to lovers who are not from the same caste, religion or race. Younger brother Rajveer Singh does not approve of the drastic and barbaric ways of the elder brother. In short, Rajveer is against the honour killings of his brother.

All hell breaks loose in the family when Omveer’s only child, Janvi (Jyoti Yadav), elopes with Sooraj (Bhavesh Kumar) who belongs to a lower caste and class. Omveer, Rajveer and the former’s cronies launch a hunt for the love birds but tracking them down is not easy. The two have eloped to Delhi where Sooraj’s cousin (Girish Kulkarni) lives.

How do Omveer and Rajveer catch the two lovers? Does Omveer kill his daughter and her lover, like he kills other eloping couples? What is Rajveer’s stance?

Manoj Tiwari’s story is as old as the hills. Vishal Vijay Kumar’s screenplay is so laboured that the impact on the viewers is poor. The entire drama is predictable because one has seen such stories in many earlier films. The worst part of the screenplay is that because the viewers don’t empathise with the lovers, they couldn’t care less whether the lovers are in trouble or safe. The viewers’ hearts simply do not beat for the two love birds because they are unable to endear themselves to them (viewers). Vishal Vijay Kumar’s dialogues are poor.

Bhavesh Kumar is not hero material. He neither looks like a hero nor acts like one. In short, he makes a weak debut. Jyoti Yadav is also dull as Janvi. Jimmy Shergill is alright as Rajveer. Kumud Mishra spells terror as Omveer. He delivers a fine performance. Girish Kulkarni leaves a mark as Sooraj’s cousin in Delhi. Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Brijendra Kala, Akhilendra Mishra, Pankaj Jha and Asif Basra provide routine support. Shivani Sopuri (as Omveer and Rajveer’s mother) is good. Neha Joshi, Sonali Phogat (as Jimmy’s wife) and Smita Singh (as Omveer’s wife) are okay.

Manoj Tiwari’s direction is alright. Music (Ripul Sharma and Sanjeev-Ajay) and lyrics (by Ripul Sharma and Sanjeev Chaturvedi) comprise one fairly nice song and other ordinary numbers. Manoj Tiwari’s choreography is barely passable. Background music (by Dharma Vish) is hackneyed. Camerawork (by Devendra Tiwari and D. Kannan) is ordinary. Narendra Rahurikar’s production designing and Gautam Jadhav’s art direction are commonplace. S. Mallesh’s action and stunt scenes lack thrill. Chandan Arora’s editing is quite sharp.

On the whole, P Se Pyaar F Se Farraar is a flop show, a non-starter.

Released on 18-10-’19 at Inox (daily 2 shows) and other cinemas of Bombay thru PVR Pictures Ltd. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over.
