MARATHI FILM ACTRESS HELD FOR EXTORTION | 5 December, 2019

Marathi film actress Sara Shrawan, also known as Sara Sonawane, was arrested by a Pune police crime branch team on 1st December from Lower Parel in Bombay in connection with a Rs. 15 lakh extortion case. She is the fourth person to be arrested in the case.

Upcoming actor Subhash Yadav had shot an apology video for an alleged molestation bid on a co-actor. Yadav told the police, he was being blackmailed for Rs. 15 lakh. One of the accused had tried to broker a settlement in the molestation case filed by the lady actor, as part of which Yadav recorded a video of apology. The accused demanded Rs. 15 lakh from Yadav in return for not making the video public. However, Sara allegedly leaked the video, after which Subhash Yadav filed an extortion case with the police.

Sara applied for anticipatory bail but the same was rejected by a Pune court. She was arrested after that.

A holiday court in Pune on Sunday (1st December) ordered her release on a conditional bail that she would not leave the country without its permission and shall furnish a cash surety of Rs. 15,000 with a personal release bond.
