The Esplanade court today (7th October) sent Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, actor Arbaz Merchant and the six others arrested with them in the cruise rave party case, to 14 days’ judicial custody. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had asked for their custody till October 11 as they wanted to bring Aryan and Arbaz face-to-face with one Achit Kumar whom the NCB has arrested after Aryan and Arbaz allegedly named him as the supplier. The NCB’s custody of Aryan Khan and the others ended today.
Satish Maneshinde, advocate for Aryan Khan, told the court that his client’s further custody cannot be demanded just because someone else had been arrested in the case.
Soon after the Esplanade court’s order sending Aryan Khan to judicial custody, Maneshinde filed an application for interim bail in the metropolitan magistrate court, hearing of which is currently going on.
