Diljit Dosanjh’s Punjabi film, Punjab ’95, which was to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), will no longer be a part of the fest’s line-up. Based on the life of activist Jaswant Singh Kalra, the film has been removed from the festival’s itinerary. Another version has it that the film has been pulled out by the producers.
The Dosanjh starrer is facing censorship problems in India since several months. It was certified for adults only, last month, and a total of 21 cuts and alterations were ordered. The producers filed an appeal against the CBFC decision, before the Bombay high court.
