Actress Yamini Rawal’s house help has been arrested for allegedly stealing jewellery and cash totally valued at Rs. 4.50 lakh from her residence at Goregaon in Bombay. Some of the booty has already been recovered.
In her complaint, Yamini said that the accused, Pramod Gupta (20), was working at her residence since two months. At times, he would also work at her mother’s home at Andheri in Bombay. He lived at her home as did a cook, Shubham Gupta. On September 1, Yamini Rawal couldn’t find her platinum-diamond ring in the house. While searching for it, she realised that a gold chain and Rs. 20,000 were also missing. She said in her complaint that she suspected Pramod.
On October 10, when Yamini couldn’t find Pramod in her house, she called up her mother who said that he had dropped her on a motorcycle to Lokhandwala Garden for jogging. He then parked the motorbike in her building, left the keys at her house and disappeared. The actress then registered an FIR.
