People Media Factory’s Sahadev (dubbed from the Telugu film Eagle; UA) is the story of Sahadev Varma (Ravi Teja) who is wanted by RAW, the Naxals and the terrorists.
Karthik Gattamneni has written a routine story which gives action a lot of scope. The screenplay, penned by Karthik Gattamneni and Manibabu Karanam, is interesting in parts only. The first half is quite slow-paced and also a bit repetitive. The suspense behind the character of Sahadev gets boring after a point of time. The drama is also confusing at places. The pace picks up after interval, and the second half is better otherwise too. Dialogues are not up to the mark.
Ravi Teja shines in the action role. As Sahadev Varma, he impresses with his performance and stunts. Anupama Parameswaran does well. Kavya Thapar is good in the role of Rachana. Vinay Rai is quite nice. Navdeep lends able support. Madhoo stands her own. Srinivas Avasarala makes his presence felt. Srinivas Reddy leaves a mark. Ajay Ghosh’s comedy is so-so. Sivannarayana Naripeddi and Nithin Mehta are adequate.
Karthik Gattamneni’s direction is just about fair. He has not been able to hold the audience’s interest completely. Davzand’s music is average. Lyrics are ordinary. Even the song picturisations are so-so Cinematography (by Karthik Gattamneni, Kamil Plocki and Karm Chawla) is good. Action scenes (choreographed by Ram Laxman, Real Sathish and Tomek) are very thrilling. Production designing (by Srinagendra Tangala) is up to the mark. Karthik Gattamneni and Uthura’s editing ought to have been sharper. Dubbing is proper.
On the whole, Sahadev is too ordinary to make a mark at the Hindi box-office.
