‘DANGA’ (MARATHI) REVIEW | 15 March, 2024

Gaddekar Rakesh Films’ Danga (Marathi; UA) is the story of three villagers.

Vishal Patil’s story is not half as exciting as it should’ve been. Rakesh Kumar’s screenplay looks like the work of a novice. The drama simply doesn’t engage or involve the viewers. Dialogues (Vishal Patil) are ordinary.

Sachin Giri does a fair job. Sonal Sagore is okay. Nagesh Bhosale lends nice support. Manini Durge, Sachin Patil and Datta Ghonge are alright. Others pass muster.

Rameez Raja Murtuza and Vishal Patil’s direction is dull. Vishal Patil’s music and background music barely pass muster. Lyrics (Rakesh Kumar and Vishal Patil) are not impressive. Suraj Jadhav’s choreography is functional. Satish Sista’s camerawork is so-so. Editing (Bharat Sharma and Yogesh Prajapati) leaves something to desired.

On the whole, Danga is a flop fare.

Released on 15-3-’24 at Cinepolis Bhandup (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru 1st Film Studios. Publicity & opening: dull.
