MUSIC CO. CEO ASSAULTED, ABDUCTED, THREATENED: SENA MLA’S SON BOOKED | 11 August, 2023

Shiv Sena Magathane MLA Prakash Surve’s son, Raj, was booked on August 9 on charges of assaulting, abducting and intimidating Rajkumar Singh, CEO of Global Music Junction Pvt. Ltd. The Vanrai (Bombay) police filed the FIR naming Raj Surve, Bihar music company owner Manoj Mishra, and two others, besides 10-12 unknown persons.

According to the FIR, Global Music, which is engaged in distribution services, marketing and technical analytics, and works with music artistes and labels, had given Rs. 8 crore in 2021 as advance to Mishra’s company to create content for its YouTube channel. Mishra allegedly misused the money.

On August 9, 10-15 men landed up at Rajkumar Singh’s office and started raining blows on him while also hurling expletives. Even as his employees tried to intervene, the men dragged Singh out of the building and pushed him into a car, at gunpoint.

Singh was driven to the MLA’s office at Dahisar, where Raj and Manoj Mishra threatened him to settle his dispute with Manoj Mishra. Singh was then shifted to another location. By this time, Rajkumar Singh’s staff had alerted the police.

Singh was forced to sign a note on a stamp paper, which said that his company’s contract with Mishra’s company had been cancelled. He was later dropped at the MLA’s office where the police reached by tracking his location.

The FIR against the accused was registered after Singh recorded his statement late in the evening on August 9.
