Well-known film financier and once a leading Rajasthan distributor Naraindas Mukhija passed away today (23rd June) around 4.25 p.m. in Jaipur. He had had a fall at his residence around 10 days back and had to be rushed to hospital. He was admitted to the ICU of a private nursing home. His vital parameters were not upto the mark yesterday and the end came today. He was 83 years old and is survived by his daughter, Anju, and her family. His funeral will be held tomorrow (24th June).
Naraindas Mukhija lived life royally. He used to wear sparkling white safari suits for as long as one can remember. He had a super-sharp brain and was blunt to the core. Those who knew him remember him as a no-nonsense person when it came to business matters. Naraindas ji dabbled into production with Maharaja, directed by Anil Sharma. But he never produced any film after that because of the bitter experience he had with his debut production venture. Naraindas ji was known as Sethji in Rajasthan trade circles.
Naraindas Mukhija was very close to your erstwhile editor, Ramraj ji Nahta. In fact, Ramraj Nahta breathed his last in 1993 at Naraindas ji’s residence in Jaipur. After Ramraj ji’s demise, Mukhija maintained cordial relations with your editor and Ramraj ji’s son, Komal Nahta, and his entire family too.
